About

Jonah Hitchens is a singer and guitarist from Devon, UK. He studied Jazz at Trinity Laban
Conservatoire of Music from 2015-2019. It’s in London that he met with the band ‘Swing’it’, who would take him to play in venues all over Europe and even New Orleans. As well as various TV appearances.

Jonah has also become a member of ‘The Lovers of Invention’ - A tribute to Frank Zappa. With this band he has had the honour of playing prestigious venues in London such as The Jazz Cafe, Pizza Express and even 3 sold out shows at Ronnie Scotts.

Most recently he’s been making serious waves in the UK Funk & Soul scene having fronted Lack of Afro on their 2024 and 2025 tours - a respected and well-loved name on the circuit known for infectious grooves and high-energy live shows.

Jonah’s own projects have earned him a headline slot on a stage at Glastonbury festival as
well as a support slot for Jools Holland at Sidmouth International Jazz and Blues Festival.
Not to mention airplay on the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on BBC Radio 6 Music.

Jonah’s most recent project is his blues outfit “The Snake Boys”! The Snake Boys are a raw, unadulterated blues band - loud in spirit, tight in execution, and soaked in vintage tone. Drawing inspiration from icons such as Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, B.B. King and The Meters, the band fuse swaggering blues riffs with grooveheavy rhythm and raw rock & roll electricity. With attitude and grit, Jonah and The Snake Boys deliver a timeless Blues/Rock energy that feels increasingly rare - no polish, no backing tracks, no gimmicks. Just a guitar, an amp and a killer rhythm section!
